2025: A Year of Adventure, Innovation, and One-Team Wins!

As 2025 comes to a close, we’re reflecting on a year full of innovation, collaboration, and milestones that highlight the power of your WSIPC Cooperative. Together we’ve strengthened the tools and resources that empower everyone from students and educators to school administrators and leadership.

AI Innovation Summit – Shaping the Future of K12 Education
In February, the 2025 AI Innovation Summit brought together educators, administrators, and IT staff to explore the transformative role of artificial intelligence in Washington state schools. Presented in partnership with AESD, AWSP, OSPI, WASA, and WSSDA, the summit offered hands-on, actionable sessions designed to equip attendees with practical strategies for integrating AI into teaching, learning, and operations.

WASWUG 2025 – Adventure Awaits
WASWUG 2025 was a remarkable celebration of learning, professional growth, and shared success. With an adventure-themed program, attendees explored Skyward Qmlativ and SMS 2.0, data-driven decision-making strategies, and our new Special Education track in partnership with Public Consulting Group. From thought-provoking keynotes to comprehensive breakout sessions, the conference showcased the power of our Cooperative working together to support student success and strengthen connections across the state.

27 Districts Live on Qmlativ – One Team in Action
This year, 27 districts went live on Qmlativ. This milestone reflects the dedication, expertise, and partnership within our Cooperative: district teams, ISCs, and WSIPC staff, working seamlessly together to ensure smooth transitions and meaningful outcomes for students and educators.

Expanding the WSIPC Purchasing Program
WSIPC added three new RFPs to our Purchasing Program, connecting districts to competitively bid technology solutions and services:

  • RFP 25-02: Cybersecurity and Regulatory Compliance Training Solutions.
  • RFP 25-03: Alternative Learning Experience (ALE) Information Management System.
    • The anticipated contract award date is 1/16/2026. Stay tuned for awarded vendor announcements!

Strengthening Partnerships and Innovation
This year, WSIPC and Skyward implemented a co-branded look in Qmlativ, enhancing visibility and reinforcing our shared commitment to supporting Washington state’s students as One Team.

WSIPC also enhanced storage efficiency and reduced costs with Microsoft Azure Elastic SAN, cutting backup times from three hours to seven minutes and reducing SQL Server storage costs by 20%. These improvements freed IT resources for innovation, including future AI-driven solutions to support K–12 education.

Empowering Data-Driven Decisions
WSIPC was awarded a Gates Foundation grant to lead the statewide implementation of FOYOST (Follow Your Students), helping districts track and improve postsecondary success outcomes. FOYOST transforms complex National Student Clearinghouse data into clear, equity-focused dashboards, provided at no cost to all public school districts in the first year.

We also released new reports in Qmlativ and SMS 2.0 to support compensated absences analysis, streamlining leave data review and helping districts complete the OSPI Sick Leave Liability Tool with ease.

A Year of Impact
2025 has been a year of collaboration, growth, and meaningful outcomes. None of this would be possible without the dedication of our districts, ISCs, partners, and WSIPC team members working together as One Team.

Here’s to building on this momentum and making 2026 even stronger, together.
