K-12 school communities face an ever evolving and unique set of threats, hazards, and security challenges ranging from targeted violence to cyberattacks. In September of 2022, the FBI issued an alert warning of the increased danger of ransomware attacks against educational institutions. The FBI noted that “school districts with limited cybersecurity capabilities and constrained resources are often the most vulnerable; however, the opportunistic targeting often seen with cyber criminals can still put school districts with robust cybersecurity programs at risk."
Keeping our K-12 communities secure is an ongoing challenge that requires support from many different resources to manage the risk landscape.
This is a broad category covering the entire security landscape and includes, but is not limited to, solutions like, threat (vulnerability) assessment and prevention, cyber security risk assessment and prevention, managed threat detection and response, physical security management, safety risk assessment, security peripherals like video surveillance cameras, scanners, and locking laptop carts, building access control solutions, incident management, intrusion systems, visitor management, and ID badging.
