September 30, 2026 — Automated Writeback Moves to District Pilot
PCG and WSIPC held a statewide writeback status session on September 30 to share the current status and next steps.
Writeback is now moving into a voluntary district pilot. Participating districts will review their writeback data, monitor how records process in their student information systems, and share feedback with PCG and WSIPC before writeback resumes more broadly.
Pilot participation is being confirmed October 2, with kickoff planned for October 6.
Districts that are not part of the pilot should continue their current process. No additional action is needed at this time. They will receive weekly updates on pilot progress and any changes to the timeline.
The current target is to begin daily writeback files on October 26. That date may change based on what is learned during the pilot.

September 30, 2026 — Advisory and Workgroup Update
District advisory and workgroup activity continues as remediation moves forward. The User Permissions & Roles Workgroup is nearing the conclusion of its current work, a Medicaid-focused workgroup is being formed, and other groups continue to address active priorities.

September 25, 2026 — PCG submits corrective action plan
PCG has submitted its corrective action plan in response to WSIPC’s notice of non-conformance.
The plan focuses on three areas:
- Making everyday IEP Online workflows work better for district staff
- Fixing reporting and data issues
- Correcting user access, permissions, roles, and administrative functions
PCG has identified a series of fixes and target dates between October 1 and October 16. These include work on historical and progress-report data, automated Writeback, consent and IEP workflows, Safety Net reporting, service lists, and user permissions.
These dates are targets for completing specific work. They do not mean an issue is automatically resolved.
Changes must be tested and, where appropriate, validated by districts before they are considered complete.
Current focus: Automated Writeback
Automated Writeback remains an active priority. PCG has been testing a file generated from IEP Online 3.0 and comparing results with WSIPC, Seattle Public Schools, and other participating districts.
PCG’s current target for automated publication is October 2. Before this work is considered complete, the data must be tested and reviewed to make sure it is accurate and suitable for districts to use.
September 18, 2026 — Board requires corrective action
The WSIPC Board of Directors voted unanimously to determine that IEP Online 3.0 was not meeting contract requirements and required PCG to take corrective action.
The Board identified three areas needing immediate attention:
- District workflows that make required special education work harder to complete
- Reporting and compliance data that must be accurate and reliable
- User permissions and settings districts need to operate the system
WSIPC also announced that districts would not be billed for IEP Online 3.0 and that WSIPC would withhold payment to PCG until the system reaches an acceptable level of use.
The Board also established an important standard: releasing a software change does not, by itself, mean an issue is fixed. Changes must work as intended and be validated with the districts that rely on the system.
September 17, 2026 — WSIPC formally notifies PCG
WSIPC formally notified PCG that IEP Online 3.0 was in a state of non-conformance requiring remediation.
The notice required PCG to provide a corrective action plan identifying the problems being addressed, planned fixes, responsible owners, target dates, temporary workarounds, testing and validation, risks, and how progress would be reported.
Work was already underway across several areas, including application fixes, data migration and integration, reporting, permissions, workflow changes, district support, and training.
Because the issues have different causes, there is not one single systemwide “fix date.” Different issues will move through testing and validation at different times.

September 16, 2026 — District and educator input continues
WSIPC continued working directly with partners and stakeholders affected by the IEP Online 3.0 transition.
The WSIPC Board met with WEA leadership to create a direct channel for educator feedback and better understand the workload and service impacts educators were experiencing. WSIPC also continued coordinating with PCG and educational service district partners on technical information, district guidance, and next steps.
District feedback is also being gathered through statewide advisory groups and focused workgroups and is being used to help set priorities and evaluate whether changes work in day-to-day district use.
