Start Strong for a Safer Year!
Starting the year off strong means putting cybersecurity front and center.
Cybersecurity isn’t just an IT issue, it’s an everyone issue. Our schools hold valuable data, and protecting it takes a shared commitment across teams, roles, and partners.
As we head into the new year, a few fundamentals continue to make a real difference:
- Partnerships matter. Through WSIPC’s Purchasing Program, you can access trusted cybersecurity solutions that strengthen defenses while saving time and resources:
- Multi Factor Authentication (MFA) works. This extra step remains one of the simplest and most effective ways to stop attackers.

- Threats keep evolving. Ongoing awareness, regular training, and strong security practices are essential as tactics become more sophisticated.
- People matter most. Informed staff, quick reporting, and a culture of vigilance are just as important as any technical control.
- Backups are critical. Test them, secure them, and ensure they’re offsite and immutable so they’re there when you need them.
Cybersecurity is a shared responsibility. When we begin the year informed, proactive, and connected, we’re stronger together and better prepared for what’s ahead.
