Your District Has Access to Free Privacy Tools!
Data Privacy Day is a reminder that protecting student information is not optional, it’s essential. The good news? Every school in Washington State already has access to powerful, no-cost tools to help you do just that.
Through the WSIPC Cooperative, all Washington State schools (public, private, independent, charter, and tribal) receive free Washington State Alliance access to the Student Data Privacy Consortium (SDPC) and Access For Learning Community (A4L).
As part of the Washington State Alliance, Washington schools have access to resources including:
- SDPC Resource Registry – Practical, field-tested privacy resources schools and districts can adapt and implement to strengthen student data protections.
- National Data Privacy Agreement (NDPA) – A standardized agreement that simplifies vendor contracting while reinforcing strong privacy expectations.
- National Research Data Privacy Agreement (NRDPA) – A FERPA-aligned agreement designed to support research partnerships while safeguarding student data.
- SIF Certification Program – A program that ensures secure, reliable data sharing between systems using Schools Interoperability Framework (SIF) standards, so data can be entered once and used many times.
This Data Privacy Day and every day, your WSIPC Cooperative is committed to helping you protect student data.

The A4L Community brings together education leaders, policymakers, and solution providers to tackle real-world challenges around learning data, privacy, and interoperability. WSIPC is proud to be a founding member of the Student Data Privacy Consortium, which focuses specifically on the day-to-day realities of protecting learner information and setting clear, consistent expectations between schools and vendors.
WSIPC is a non-profit public agency that provides technology solutions, services, and support to K-12 schools. WSIPC’s purpose is to help schools do more with every dollar and to empower them with the tools to work smarter.
