WSIPC Welcomes April Mardock as Chief Information Security Officer!

We’re delighted to announce that April Mardock will be joining WSIPC in mid-August as our Chief Information Security Officer (CISO)!

April currently serves as the CISO for Seattle Public Schools and brings over two decades of cybersecurity and information technology experience to WSIPC. Her work has made a lasting impact both statewide and nationally—through her leadership with Seattle Public Schools, her contributions to the K12 Security Information Exchange (K12 SIX), and her regional leadership with Puget Sound ESD.

“We are thrilled to welcome April into the WSIPC community,” shared WSIPC CEO Dana Anderson. “We look forward to the impact her leadership will have as we continue to evolve and strengthen the support we offer our districts.”

April’s appointment represents a significant milestone in our strategic commitment to protecting student and staff data, supporting uninterrupted learning, and addressing today’s complex cybersecurity challenges. Her expertise will not only strengthen our internal practices but also enhance the trusted, partnership-driven support we provide to districts throughout Washington.

“After 20+ years working at Seattle Public Schools, I am ‘graduating’ and heading off to be CISO at WSIPC,” shared April. “I'm excited to start my new job in August under the leadership of Dana Anderson.”

Please join us in welcoming April Mardock to the WSIPC community. We look forward to the expertise, energy, and leadership she brings to this vital role!
