WSIPC is seeking an individual to provide technical support for enterprise systems, applications, and networks. The position provides customer service via email, telephone calls, and a ticket tracking system in order to meet the business needs.

ABOUT THE COMMUNITY

The City of Everett, is the county seat of Snohomish County, Washington. Located about 25 miles north of Seattle, Everett is a Pacific-Rim city situated on Port Gardner Bay. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Provide Tier II support for Student Information System (SIS) issues within Windows, Citrix, Remote Desktop Service (RDS), and browser environments, including connectivity and printing
  • Perform system and application configuration, management, and administration
  • Manage trouble tickets ensure Service Level Agreements (SLA) are met
  • Troubleshoot and resolve hardware and software problems, including end user desktop PCs and enterprise data servers
  • Accurately describe complex technical issues surrounding problems associated with interconnectivity of multiple operating systems and layered application products to advanced technical (Tier III) support in both verbal and written form
  • Recommend and execute modifications to systems in order to improve efficiency, reliability, and performance
  • Coordinate with network engineering, business application, and database administration functions to ensure availability, reliability, and scalability of systems to meet corporate objectives
  • Develop, implement, and maintain change control and testing processes for modifications to systems
  • Develop and maintain systems and application documentation

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • College diploma or university degree in the field of computer science and/or equivalent work experience
  • Strong customer service orientation
  • Experience installing, configuring, and maintaining Windows, and Remote Desktop servers, and related Windows networks
  • An understanding of database structures, theories, principles, and practices
  • Monitor, optimize and allocate physical data storage for database systems
  • Experience with Active Directory, LDAP, and DNS
  • Experience with HyperV Virtual Machine (VM) environments
  • Working technical knowledge of databases including Progress and Microsoft SQL Server technologies
  • Proven analytical and creative problem-solving skills
  • Good interpersonal, written and oral communication skills and the ability to present ideas in user-friendly language
  • Superior attention to detail
  • Ability to travel occasionally in or out-of-state, some overnight travel, and to work additional hours to meet deadlines

TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT

  • This is an overtime exempt position. Annualized salary based on qualifications and experience.
