WSIPC CISO April Mardock Recognized as a Champion of Collective Defense
We’re proud to share that April Mardock, WSIPC’s Chief Information Security Officer, was recently recognized in the Global Resilience Federation (GRF) newsletter as a Champion of Collective Defense.
In their feature highlighting security leaders making a meaningful impact across industries, GRF called out April for leadership and contributions to K–12 education security nationwide. From helping build and strengthen the K12 SIX security information sharing community, to leading the K12 SIX technical working group, April’s work has helped advance practical, actionable protections for schools.
April’s leadership has been integral to the development of the Essential Protections series, including implementation rubrics, self-assessments, and incident response resources that many districts rely on today. April also serves on the K12 SIX steering committee, regularly submits threat intelligence to the community, and has spoken at each of K12 SIX’s National Cybersecurity Leadership Conferences.
This recognition reflects what we see every day at WSIPC: thoughtful leadership, deep expertise, and a strong commitment to collaboration in service of safer, more resilient schools.
Congratulations, April, and thank you for representing WSIPC and the K–12 community so well!
