Capital Region ESD 113, along with 8 other organizations in Washington, was recently awarded a $100,000 grant through Career Connect Washington to establish itself as a Regional Network. This network will promote STEM education and career-connected learning to ensure all youth in Washington have access to the tools they need to succeed and thrive.

ESD 113 will use the funding to increase career-connected learning opportunities for underserved youth who traditionally face high barriers to quality education and family-wage careers after graduation. To aid in this goal, the ESD will hire a Career Connected Learning Coordinator, who will work with the Capital Region STEAM Network, Pacific Mountain Workforce Development Council, Chambers of Commerce across all five counties in our region, and other regional partners to remove systemic and socio-economic barriers to education.

Great things can happen when stakeholders come together to support our youth, and great things are no doubt on the horizon for this Regional Network. Congratulations!
