EHB 2242 expands districts’ financial reporting requirements to include subfund codes, NCES codes, and location codes. SB 6362 accelerates the subfund accounting requirement to 2018-2019.

The Governor recently vetoed section 408 of SB 6362, essentially removing the burden on OSPI to report on the Account Restructure until the 2019-2020 school year.

Section 302 remains in place however, requiring districts to incorporate the subfund portion into their account codes for the 2018-2019 school year. The NCES and location classifications are slated for 2019-2020.

We recognize that the accelerated timeline around the subfund is a concern for districts. While non-Cooperative districts will undoubtedly struggle to meet this timeline, WSIPC districts can rest assured that a subfund solution will be in place for the 2018-2019 school year. WSIPC will release the subfund code solution in the July 2018 standard release. Solutions for the NCES and location codes will be in place by the 2019-2020 fiscal year.

WSIPC guarantees that we will continue to provide the solutions our districts need, so you will always be 100% compliant with all legislative data requirements.
