In 1967, ten school districts formed a cooperative to share costs for software development, hardware, and centralized technological support. The result of this collaboration became WSIPC, a unique public agency that provides information services at a reasonable cost to school districts. It now serves nearly 300 school districts with over 1 million students in Washington State, Idaho, Alaska, Montana, and Oregon.

The cooperative power of WSIPC is even more crucial today. It continues to evolve in order to meet the dynamic technological needs of its members. This year, WSIPC initiated the preparation for the rollout of Skyward's newest software – the Qmlativ Education Management System. WSIPC plans to begin the Qmlativ migration with Beta Districts during the 2017-18 school year and Early Adopters during the 2018-19 school year.
