SOC II Audit

For 2021, we completed our SOC II audit and received our SOC II type one attestation letter for security availability and confidentiality. The letter states that in the auditor’s view, our controls and measures adequately meet the level of standards for our operations. This means that the audit was successful, and no major issues were uncovered.

WSIPC Board Chair Dr. Dana Anderson stated that “We should shine light on this success. Our Cooperative continues to provide security that is exemplary, and we should celebrate this.”

Cybersecurity Awareness Training Solutions

To help our Cooperative members keep their data safe, WSIPC completed RFP 21-04 Cybersecurity Awareness Training Solutions through our WSIPC Purchasing Program. This RFP gives our Cooperative members access to RFP-awarded vendors who can provide security awareness training solutions at the lowest-possible cost.

What is the SOC II Audit?

As defined by the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA), “A SOC II Audit reports on controls at a service organization relevant to security, availability, processing integrity, confidentiality, or privacy. These reports are intended to meet the needs of a broad range of users that need detailed information and assurance about the controls at a service organization relevant to security, availability, and processing integrity of the systems the service organization uses to process users’ data and the confidentiality and privacy of the information processed by these systems. These reports can play an important role in oversight of the organization, vendor management programs, internal corporate governance and risk management processes, and regulatory oversight.”

WSIPC has received its SOC II type one attestation letter for security availability and confidentiality. The effective date of the audit was March 31, 2021 with our next audit scheduled for March of 2022.

The deliverables of the audit are presented in the form of an attestation letter. This letter was shared out to the WSIPC Board in a monthly communication. The report itself contains sensitive data regarding our security posture and processes. It can be made available upon request.

The letter states that in the auditor’s view, our controls and measures adequately meet the level of standards for our operations. This means that the audit was successful, and no major issues were uncovered.
