Announcing the WESPaC Electronic Food Service Application

Currently, families in the State of Washington wishing to qualify for free or reduced lunch cost considerations complete a lengthy hardcopy application. This is submitted to the school district for review and approval.  In order to assist families in making application, the Skyward WESPaC product has been enhanced to include an electronic version of the District Food Service Application.

Through WESPaC Family Access the guardian can complete an electronic version of this district application and submit it directly to the district electronically.  The guardian will complete the application information including a full list of members in the household, earnings for each, additional income from social security, child support, and other sources.  This application also considers foster children living in the household.  This process allows for entry of TANF/Food Stamp numbers, as well, which will place the student in a Free status when approved.

Districts receive the electronic completed form with electronic signatures from the guardian.  The application remains in an “awaiting approval” status until the appropriate district representative approves it.  Once approved, the guardian will see that approval note in Family Access.

The WESPaC Electronic Food Service Application was approved for use in Washington State by the Child Nutrition Services department at OSPI in August, 2011.

HomeRoom for WSIPC – Data-driven decision making tool helps students achieve

WSIPC is pleased to announce a partnership with School Data Solutions (SDS) to integrate the Homeroom for WSIPC web application with the WSIPC School Management Suite for cooperative member districts.

Homeroom for WSIPC displays WESPaC student data and other data sources in an easy to use, common look and feel web application that provides multiple ways for educators to graphically view student performance results.  The strength of the system is the ability to combine WESPaC data; such as schedule, attendance and discipline, and student assessment data from a full range of state and district assessment measurements.

The Homeroom for WSIPC implementation will begin in fall of 2011 in one ESD region.  This initial implementation will assist WSIPC with developing a statewide deployment model and implementation schedule.

Since 1967 WSIPC has been working for the common good of schools across the state providing IT solutions, services and support.  As the field of education continues to change, WSIPC strives to make cost effective tools available to educators that can be accessed securely from any computer over the internet.  From academic and standards referenced gradebooks to Family Access and Message Center, WSIPC helps teachers and administrators manage students, lessons and communication with ease.

Continuing to build on this foundation, the partnership with School Data Solutions will provide educators a tool to build strong connections with each student, easily analyze data, discover trends and most importantly make decisions that ultimately help student’s achieve.
